July show announcement

Hey Folks,

I'm happy to share with you a new project I'm working on...The Matchedash Parish.

This show features Lance Anderson and myself along with a group of some of our favourite musicians.

Our first show is at Rhapsody Barrel Bar on Thursday July 5th. Starting at 9pm. Tickets are $10 advance and $15 at the door. You can buy tickets from me or online, just click here

Read on to find out more information about who is involved and what it's about all about. Hope you can join us.

Matt Weidinger and Lance Anderson have formed the Matchedash Parish with 6 of the country’s top blues and roots music artists. It is a powerhouse soul and gospel/roots band guaranteed to bring the house down.
Juno award-winning producer Lance Anderson (leader of The LAST WALTZ, Mad Dogs and Englishmen and Soulsville - The Music of STAX) has brought together another wonderful roster of BLUES ALL STARS, but this time to perform original songs and masterful arrangements of some of the greatest soul and gospel tunes. Along with Kitchener phenom Matt Weidinger, Matchedash Parish will create a tent revival atmosphere with this congregation of talent.
This pared down version of ‘The PARISH’ features Shamaka Ali, drums (Al Green, Barkays, A - Team) Ben Rollo, drums (Lucky Peterson, Danny Michel), Mackenzie Jordan, guitar, (Jackets) and on bass Hamilton’s Mark Mcintyre (Danny Michel). Matt Weidinger will sing lead and play Hammond organ, piano, mandolin and Lance Anderson will be on piano, accordion and organ. The rhythm this group creates is a freight train that will pick you up and drop you down in the swamplands of the south.

Matt Weidinger is a rising star in the Canadian Blues world. This multi-talented young man is equally at home on piano, organ and guitar. But it is his soulful and expressive voice and commanding stage presence which has garnered him so much attention.

Lance Anderson is a Maple Blues award winning ‘Keyboard Player of the Year’ and one of the top roots and blues studio session artists in the country. He is internationally recognized as one of the top Hammond organ players in North America, having recorded with Anderson/Sloski and 2B3 The Toronto Sessions.

Anderson and Weidinger have talked about doing a project that featured the two keyboardists and their original songs. They are headlining the Main Stage at the Mariposa Folk Festival 2018 with the full PARISH (12 piece band) and are finishing a recording this summer. Combining N’Orleans funk, with gospel inspired rock and the roots music of The BAND.

The MATCHEDASH PARISH is a multi-generational, diverse and exciting new entry on the Canadian music scene. Join the PARISH.
